The 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Monroe Community Foundation (MACF) took place on March 10th. The Buffalo Ridge Jazz Band performed in the auditorium at Monroe High School free of charge for the community.
Buffalo Ridge showed the talent of each of the musicians through their frequent and impressive solos on trombone, clarinet, trumpet, keyboard, drums, and even tuba.
Between sets, the guests placed their bids on silent auction items set up in the entrance hall. The auction and donations raised ver $1000 for the Endowment Fund.
MACF would like to thank their sponsors for the evening’s entertainment — Ball Brothers Foundations, Baker Concrete Construction, First Financial Bank, Hansen’s Natural Beverages (Dennie Williams), Moon & Adrion Insurance (Rob Kilburn and Kyle Kilburn), Kroger, MacDonald Insurance, Inc., Monroe Chiropractic Center, Monroe Mechanical, Munofo’s Jubilee Foods and the Red Onion Cafe. Special thanks to Tom Burklow and his students at Monroe High School who put together the video shown during the concert.
MACF administers several scholarships for area students, and makes grants to local nonprofits including the Monroe Lending Library, Village Ringers of Mt. Pleasant and Monroe Elementary School.
