Students attend regional Science Fair

Over 120 seventh and eighth grade students participated in the Monroe JH/SH School Science Fair on February 23rd held in the JH/HS Cafeteria. We had over thirty community member judges.
Several students were ranked Superior, the highest ranking, and qualified to compete at the regional Science Fair at University of Cincinnati on March 10th. These students included: Zach Holbrock, Andy Thorpe, Michael Horvat, Logan Stanger, Nikki Larkin, Gwen Heinkel, Ellen Short, Krysten Flick, Josh McCausland, Rachel Chapman, Morgan Tendam, Hannah Robertson, and Chris Hammond. Our overall Science Fair Winner was Josh McCausland.
Judges commented on how professional and well-spoken our students were as well as their impressive science fair boards and use of scientific method.
Nine students competed at the University of Cincinnati Science Fair: Zach Holbrock, Andy Thorpe, Michael Horvat, Logan Stanger, Nikki Larkin, Gwen Heinkel, Ellen Short, Krysten Flick, and Josh McCausland. All students scored in the Excellent Category at University of Cincinnati with several students just a few points from attending the State Science Fair.
