MOMS Club of Middletown/Monroe Holds Donation Drive

The Middletown/Monroe chapter of MOM Club International held a “Necessities Drive” to benefit the Dove House, a protective shelter for victims of domestic violence in Butler County. The “Necessities Drive” was held at the Monroe Kroger on Saturday, April 14. Items collected by the MOMS Club included new and used clothing, household items, cleaning supplies, toiletries, paper goods, food, and monetary donations. Kroger Stores also donated a $25 gift certificate to the Dove House. “Despite the weather, the community response was fantastic. People were very generous and supportive. Thanks to everyone who donated for making this drive so successful,” stated Julie Howell, Middletown/Monroe MOMS Club President.

All items collected will be taken to the YWCA of Hamilton, Ohio. The Dove House Shelter is one of many programs and services available to Butler County residents and is operated by the YWCA. Dove House services include the protective shelter, child and court advocacy, and support and educational groups. The Dove House is also completely confidential. If you know of someone in need of their services, the Dove House maintains a crisis hotline (1-800-618-6523).
