New Staff at Monroe
Monroe Local Schools is buzzing with new staff this year. Monroe hired 39 new employees for 2007-2008 ; 20 classroom teachers, 5 Intervention specialists, 4 adminstrators,2 secretaries, 2 clinic aides, 2 paraprofessionals, 2 food service, 1 elementary, guidance counselor. Some of the positions were filled due to new sections of classes added, and some were replacement staff. The 5 new Administrators are; Elementary Assistant Principal- Jennifer Dennis who come from Edgewood City Schools. This is her first year as an Assistant Principal. 7-12 Curriculum Coordinator- Diane Ivory who come to us from Princeton City Schools where she served as their 7-12 Curriculum Coordinator. Lisa Hodits- Jr. High Principal formerly Monroe’s 7-12 Curriculum Coordinator, Jody Long- Primary Director & Elementary Curriculum Coordinator and Dr. Robert Stark from Reading Community Schools will fill the Director of Special Services position for the district.
Jennifer Dennis- Elementary Assistant Principal
Mrs. Jennifer Dennis has been in education for 20 years serving at Lakota and Edgewood in various teaching capacities; 11 years Lakota Local schools, elementary classroom teacher, 8 years Edgewood City Schools as an elementary classroom teacher. This is her first year as an Assistant Elementary Principal.
Mrs. Diane Ivory- 7-12 Curriculum Coordinator
Mrs. Diane Ivory has been in education for 32 years serving in Dayton Public Schools as a High School science teacher for 17 years, Vandalia Butler Schools for 5 years as a K-12 science coordinator, Wayne High School in Huber Heights Principal for 4 years, Princeton City Schools 7-12 Curriculum Coordinator for 5 years.
Lisa Hodits- Jr. High PrincipalMs. Lisa Hodits has been in education for 9 years beginning her career in Middletown City Schools for 1 year, 5 years as an English teacher for Ross High School, she also served as a District Media Coordinator for Ross until she was hired at Monroe in 2002.
Jody Long- Primary Director
Mrs. Jody Long has been in education for 17 years. She began as a kindergarten teacher at Mayfield Elementary in Middletown and finished her last 2 of 9 years as a 1st grade teacher. Mrs. Long came to Monroe in 1999 as a kindergarten teacher and has taught 4th grade for 4 years, served as an instruction specialist for 1 year ,and is now the Elementary Curriculum Coordinator 3 years to present, and is also the Director of the Primary Building.
Dr. Robert Stark- Director of Special Services
Dr. Stark has served as a School Psychologist and Special Services Administrator for 29 years. He began his career with Hamilton County as a School Psychologist serving for 5 years, moved to Reading Community Schools for 6 years as a School Psychologist and becoming their Coordinator of Special Services in 1989 to the present. He also has been an Adjunct Instructor at Xavier University since 1996.
