The Monroe Current Events Club met at the James Monroe Room of the Muncipal Building, September 5, 2007. The members enjoyed a delicious salad luncheon.
The buffet table and the round tables were decorated with lovely roses.
After the luncheon, President Peggy Hesson opened the business meeting. She greeted members and guests. The guests were: Honorary member Glengene Martin, Anna Hale and Irma West. Peggy announced the program for the coming year: Outstanding Women. President Hesson also introduced the new officers:
Vice President--Joyce Tannreuther; Secretary--Dorcas Weidner; Assistant Secretary--Marilyn Moran and Treasurer--Imogene Orts. The Executive Council consists of:
Pat Beatty, Elaine Blount, Mary Jane Conrad; Peggy Hesson; Marilyn Niebur, Virginia Smith, and Joyce Tannreuther. Hostesses for the day were the Executive Council.
Each member answered roll call by telling of a woman who was a great influence in her
life.
The next meeting will be October 3, 2007 at the James Monroe Room of the Municipal Building.
