Mount Pleasant Retirement Village will host some fun, entertaining and informative classes.
Starting Saturday March 7th learn the basics of the computer or the Internet. Classes for Computer Basics will be held from 1:00 – 2:30 pm Basics of Microsoft Windows, computer hardware, media, CD’s and flash drives. Also, basic language used in the computer industry. Classes for the Internet Basics will be held from 3:00- 4:30 pm.
Basics of the Internet, surfing the web, safety precautions and much more. The classes will be held on each Saturday starting March 7 and running through April 11th. The classes will be held at 21 Indiana Avenue. The Warren County Career Center will be teaching these classes. There is a small fee for the class.
History classes, “Overseas Challenges to America in the 21st Century” start on March 4th. Dr. Tom Preisser, retired chair from the history department at Sinclair Community College will be the instructor of these informative classes. Dr. Preisser will be presenting four one-hour classes. In contrast to the relative stability of the Cold War years (1945 – 1990), our country faces a diverse, continually shifting set of challenges in today’s rapidly evolving world. Dr. Preisser will discuss several of the most pressing challenges in his classes. Classes are held from 1:30 – 2:30 pm in the Activity Building on Mount Pleasant Retirement Village campus. There is a small fee for classes.
Ballroom Dance Classes will begin March 3rd and will run for six consecutive Tuesdays. Learn the basics of ballroom dance with or without a partner! Classes will be held at the Mary H. Kittredge Chapel from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm There are numerous health benefits to dancing including weight management, decreased blood pressure, strengthening of bones and much more! The classes will be taught by The Warren County Career Center There is a small fee for classes.
