WE NEED YOUR RECIPES. The Monroe Area Community Foundation (MACF) is compiling a community cookbook, which will then be sold to the general public. We want everyone to have the fun of making and tasting each other's recipes.
The first step of our campaign was to canvas Monroe Local Schools, all clubs and organizations, city offices, and friends and neighbors for recipes. Through local media, we are now asking the public for both recipes and sponsorships.This project will help us continue our mission of enhancing the welfare of individuals and groups in the Monroe area. The MACF does this through invested donations, which it then uses to make charitable and civic contributions. Previously granted monies have gone to Monroe Lending Library, Monroe Local Schools Saturday Safari programs, Mount Pleasant Retirement Village carillon, Monroe Fire Department thermal imaging camera, Hornet Haven fencing, Summer Youth Theatre, Mount Pleasant Village Ringers, Monroe Historical Society, and Whispering Oaks playground equipment. In addition, each year the Monroe Area Community Foundation grants scholarships at the Senior Awards Assembly to qualifying seniors at Monroe Local Schools.
