"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at LaComedia Includes Local Talent

The Andrew Lloyd Weber Broadway hit, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is currently on stage at La Comedia Dinner Theatre in Springboro, Ohio. After enjoying a great meal to begin the evening, we were treated to a very well directed musical called Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The musical takes places in Canaan during biblical times. Joseph (played by Ryan LaTour) is one of thirteen brothers. Joseph is very successful and the proud owner of a beautiful multicolored coat. His brothers become jealous of their brother and his multi-colored coat. As a result of their jealousy, Joseph endures various difficulties throughout the musical. He is thrown into jail and then is sold into slavery. Joseph is constantly challenged to stay positive throughout his ordeal. Good things come about for Joseph as he uses his ability to interpret dreams to help the Pharaoh, the Egyptian leader. As an appointed minister of the Pharaoh he comes to meet his brothers years later. The brothers don't recognize Joseph since so much time has passed since they sold him. After exacting a "little revenge" he announces who he is and helps the brothers. The happy ending lends itself to the enjoyable experience.
The great music and dancing makes this is a must see show for all audiences. The musical also has local talent on display. Michael Pretorious plays Benjamin, Joseph's father, and Morgan Leigh Tendam plays the wife of Joseph. Follies fans will recognize these two from the many high school musicals they have appeared in over the last several years - and both provide excellent performances in this show.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will play through November 1st. I would highly recommend this musical for all audiences.
