Tickets go on sale to the public the week of Dec. 5 for the 18th annual Renaissance Feaste to be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 5 and 6, 2012, at the Otterbein Lebanon Senior Lifestyle Community, 585 N. SR 741, Lebanon. These evenings feature a complete “Boar’s Head” dinner and entertainment hosted by court officials to celebrate the season of Epiphany. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Otterbein’s multi-purpose room is transformed into a castle’s great hall where guests are entertained by close to 50 performers including the royal court, special guests, assorted kings, pages and court musicians. All of the performers, many of whom are residents, appear in 16th Century costuming. Musicians include the 16-voice Otterbein Renaissance Chorale, the Otterbein Recorder Choir, an area harpist and a trumpet trio.
The Renaissance meal of roast pork, red potatoes, winter vegetables and salad will be accompanied by toasts from the wassail bowl and will culminate with the serving of flaming pudding.
All seats are reserved for the feaste. Tickets are $15 per person and include the complete dinner and entertainment. Call early for choice seating. Reservations can be made by calling the Renaissance ‘Hot Line’ at 513-696-8575 after Dec. 5. Tickets also will be available from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the following days in front of the Shaker Market at Otterbein Lebanon: Dec. 7, 9, 14, 16, 19, 21, 28 and Jan. 2.
