Butler County Citizens for Elderly Board Adds New Members

The community board overseeing Butler County's Elderly Services Program has approved four new members. 

Don Eberwine, of Oxford, is Horticultural Program Assistant for the Ohio State University. Previously, he was Director of Adult Education for the Butler County Joint Vocational School District. He is currently involved in the Oxford Farmer's Market and Oxford United Methodist Church. His past community service includes Hamilton Red Cross Board of Directors; Southwest Regional Water District Trustee/Treasurer.

Deborah Hauenstein, of Monroe, is Senior Account Executive with Hospice of Cincinnati, Hamilton location. Her past and current community affiliations include LifeSpan, Inc. Senior Services Advisory Board; American Cancer Society, Butler County chapter board; John Engle Christian Counseling Center Board; and Butler County Hospital Extended Care Council. 

Elaine Hohman, of Monroe, has worked for Champion International, Fort Hamilton Hospital and the Middletown Schools. Her past and current community affiliations include Junior Achievement Board of Directors; United Way Board, Hamilton, Ohio State Extension Services board; and Middletown Hospital Auxiliary Board.

Daniel Solazzo, of Fairfield, is Account Manager for Xavier University. Prior to that, he was CFO for S&S Healthcare Strategies and Controller for Psychiatric Professional Services at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. 

Butler County Citizens for Elderly Services, Inc. oversees and sets policy for the tax levy-funded program that helps older adults remain safe and independent in their homes. The Elderly Services Program provides services such as housekeeping help, Meals on Wheels, personal care, and medical transportation. It serves about 3,200 people at any point in time and served a total of 3,880 in 2008. The program is administered by Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio, under contract with the Butler County Commissioners. LifeSpan, Inc. provides intake and care management.
