The recent community food drive is over (THANK YOU MONROE for making this a HUGE sucess!) and all items have been delivered to the Shared Harvest Food Bank, PAWS of Middletown and Animal Friends Humane Society but...
We have since learned there is a huge need for pet food at the New Life Vineyard pantry in Hamilton (which services all of Butler County) and Franklin Area Community Services which serves Warren County. Reach Out Lakota also accepts and offers pet food for West Chester & Liberty Township residents. These are the only pantries in our area that offer help for needy family pets. I've spoken to all the pantry Directors and they have been amazed at the need to help animals this Christmas season. Not to mention our shelters and rescues are all overwhelmed with pets being given up for adoption – simply because their owners can no longer afford to keep them. Too often when turned away from a no-kill shelter, family pets are simply abandoned to the streets to fend for themselves for fear of the alternative.
Catnip & Carrots feels compelled to keep helping. Therefore we will be making a delivery of pet food to New Life this coming Monday evening, December 7 and hopefully one to FACS & ROL on Wednesday, the 9th. If anyone would like to donate food, please contact us at 513-360-0275 or mail@catnipandcarrots.org. Any amount of dry or canned cat or dog food or kitty litter would be much appreciated. We are happy issue a tax receipt, as we are 501(c)3 public charity. If you would like to make a monetary donation, we are happy to shop for you!
We can pick up any donations or items can be left at 125 Sackett Drive, Monroe.
With your help, we can make this a pawsitive holiday for our 4-legged friends.
