Mount Pleasant Retirement Village Opens New Art Studio

Mount Pleasant Retirement Village welcomed Mayor Robert Routson, Vice Mayor Anna Hale, City Manager William Brock, Director of Middletown Arts Center, Pat Belisle, Chamber President, Bill Trick and others to the grand opening of the Village's first Art Studio.  A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony took place on January 27 as Executive Director for Mount Pleasant, Stan Kappers welcomed everyone.

The Creative Art Studio is located at 101 Maumee inside the village.  The studio will provide classes in painting, pottery, stained glass, photography, writing, music, drawing, jewelry, and cooking. Most classes will be open to the public as seating allows. Lori Shutrump, Activity Coordinator said, "It's great having a special place for our residents to display their works of art.  We have so many talented residents living here on campus."
