If you do not see a toolbar in the body section of the story creation page, click on "enable rich-text" at the bottom of the body section.
- Place the cursor at the point you want to insert the image (usually at the beginning of the text).
- Click on the image icon in the toolbar (looks like a tree)
- Type the url of the image if it exists on another site, OR
- To upload an image:
- Click on the upload file icon (at the end of the url box). An upload image window will appear.
- Click on Browse at the bottom of the window and find the file on your computer. Click Open.
- Click Upload File
- You can click on "Add" next to the image in the upper window...
OR Note the directory name in the middle section of the upload window. It should be
files/u# where # is your user number and insert the Image url in the photo window
/files/u#/your_image_file_name
- Appearance Tab
- Alignment: allows you to change whether the image is left, right, middle, etc. of the text.
- Dimensions: change dimensions here. Usually you will only want to specify either height or width to keep the image proportionate. You can always come back and edit if the image is too small or large.
- Vertical and Horizontal Space: adds a little white space between the picture and text. Horizontal 4 is usually sufficient.
- Border: you can add a border to the image. Specify width in pixels.
- To finalize, click on Insert.
If you want to make changes, just click the Edit tab and click the image to select. Then click on the image icon.
