"Bye, Bye Birdie" March 23 & 24

Script by Michael Stewart, Music by Charles Strauss and Lyrics by Lee Adams

Conrad Birdie, an Elvis-like teen heart throb, has been drafted into the Army. In an attempt to rid himself of debt and to move on with his life his manager, Albert Peterson and Rose Alvarez, Albert's secretary and girlfriend, plan for Conrad to give one lucky fan a good bye kiss on the Ed Sullivan Show. Unfortunately, Kim MacAfee, the fan they pick, has just been pinned by her boyfriend Hugo Peabody. Conrad's presence brings chaos to Sweet Apple, Ohio in the form of screaming mobs of fans, Kim's put upon family, a very jealous Hugo and Albert's overbearing mother. The show features well known songs like “Kids” and “Put on a Happy Face.” Read more »
